Overview
The capacitor is a component which has the ability or “capacity” to store energy in the form of an electrical charge producing a potential difference (Static Voltage) across its plates, much like a small rechargeable battery. The run capacitor is used to improve the running efficiency of a compressor’s motor. The run capacitor is placed in series with the start winding of the compressor and will remain in the circuit as the motor operates. Construction
Dielectric – Polypropylene Element-Non inductive type, wound by high speed fully automatic controlled winding machines
Filling – Non polluting filling compound (non P.C.B.).
Case – Housed in high purity Aluminum Cans 0.6 to 0.65 mm thick .
Terminals- Tin-plated steel, Two terminals are provided for single element capacitor, three terminals for dual element capacitor, Quick connect (fast-on ) terminals provided with a detent The minimum thickness is 0.8+ 0.025 mm. All other specifications are in accordance with #250 AMP. Each terminal shall have 2,3 or 4 pins depending upon configuration.
Metal top- Metal top assembly consisting of cover, Washer, Packing Material, Connecting rivets and terminals.
Pressure Sensitive Interrupter / Internal Protection Bridge- Made of UL approved V-0 Self –Extinguishing Plastic with minimum thickness of 2.5mm . Bridge is provided with holes for inserting tips from terminals. Bridge is secured between element and metal top cover.
